Before heading over to Madeira Beach and John’s Pass, we decided to check out a local park in Largo, Florida.
As it turns out, even the local parks have alligators in Florida! The Largo Central Park Nature Preserve is made up of boardwalk trails through a tropical landscape and pond. More specifically, a pond with lots of wildlife, including alligators.

This friendly bird is an ibis, at least according to my phone!

There are turtles, too!

I always love these kinds of trails. There’s something about these plants and trees that get me every time.

We spent an hour or less checking out the park — it’s not the biggest — but we enjoyed it. It’s a surprisingly abrupt and welcome transition from Florida traffic into nature.
