In April 2023, on the drive from Nashville TN to Asheville NC, I saw seemingly countless advertisements for Rock City in Lookout Mountain GA near Chattanooga TN. A detour was in order…to SEE ROCK CITY.
I forget how I first overheard something about “Beale Street” in Memphis — I believe it was in 2022 while hanging out in Nashville. It drew comparisons to Nashville’s strip of live music spots on Broadway and I had to know more. There are few things I adore more than live music, especially in unique venues.
And admittedly, the thought of Memphis-style BBQ, Graceland, Tennessee’s beautiful nature, and a good old-fashioned road trip also caught my attention.
Scotland is a lovely place.
Incredible architecture, dramatic and beautiful nature, pubs full of character, live music and amazingly friendly locals made this country an absolute delight to visit.
This was a work trip, so while the calendar was very busy with filming, there were opportunities to see many different spots in Glasgow and Edinburgh over the ten days we were there. Here are some highlights of what I was lucky enough to experience.

Savannah is a beautiful small-feel southern town full of exceptional food, history and sights. It is possibly my favorite American city to visit and one that I have visited many times. I always feel overwhelmed by how beautiful the town is with its many garden squares and river views. By request of several family and friends over the years, this is my list of favorite things to do while visiting.
As it turns out, the journey to any of the destinations along the 469-mile Blue Ridge Parkway, full of winding road and scenic overlooks, is half the fun…and maybe even more. Mount Mitchell State Park and Green Knob Fire Tower are two spots I had the chance to stop and explore.
There are highly practical reasons to travel at break neck speeds.
