Notebook / Blog

Rather than a blog, I like to think of this space as a personal notebook that is open and available for all to see. If I'm already keeping notes for my own various uses, why not share them publicly and hopefully provide value to others as well?

Of the 3 Tennessee state parks I visited in 2023, Fall Creek Falls State Park was my overall favorite! The multiple waterfalls were great, of course, culminating in the 256 feet main waterfall, but the hiking trails, landscape views and swinging bridge along the way were the perfect compliment to the experience.

I'm not a fan of winter, but the first snow in Philadelphia since owning my DJI Mavic Air 2S drone made me very curious to go out exploring the nearby landscapes. And I'm glad I did -- there were some really amazing views!

Some snowy scenes from Fox Chase Farm, Pennypack and Lorimer Parks, and Pine Road in Northeast Philadelphia!

Burgess Falls, from start to finish, is a beautiful state park in Sparta, Tennessee, known for its ridiculously beautiful 136 foot waterfall.

"Welcome to the world's most amazing mile": A 72.7% angled ride up Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN!

In April 2023, on the drive from Nashville TN to Asheville NC, I saw seemingly countless advertisements for Rock City in Lookout Mountain GA near Chattanooga TN. A detour was in order...to SEE ROCK CITY.

I forget how I first overheard something about “Beale Street” in Memphis — I believe it was in 2022 while hanging out in Nashville. It drew comparisons to Nashville’s strip of live music spots on Broadway and I had to know more. There are few things I adore more than live music, especially in unique venues.

And admittedly, the thought of Memphis-style BBQ, Graceland, Tennessee's beautiful nature, and a good old-fashioned road trip also caught my attention.

I had an idea to try in-the-waves photography using the waterproof GoPro 11 I picked up earlier this year. The results have surprised me!

Scotland is a lovely place.

Incredible architecture, dramatic and beautiful nature, pubs full of character, live music and amazingly friendly locals made this country an absolute delight to visit.

This was a work trip, so while the calendar was very busy with filming, there were opportunities to see many different spots in Glasgow and Edinburgh over the ten days we were there. Here are some highlights of what I was lucky enough to experience.

We were all set with a new Pharos Print Release Station EXCEPT we still needed to order and program a USB card reader for swiping cards and unlocking the release station. This is what was necessary to program it for Pharos use.
