Rather than a blog, I like to think of this space as a personal notebook that is open and available for all to see. If I'm already keeping notes for my own various uses, why not share them publicly and hopefully provide value to others as well?
A number of Apple computers were stuck "Checking for updates" in Software Update in System Preferences. Updating via the Terminal didn't work either. I finally found a fix.

Savannah is a beautiful small-feel southern town full of exceptional food, history and sights. It is possibly my favorite American city to visit and one that I have visited many times. Someone just asked me if it is possible to ask folks to register for a Zoom meeting (via Zoom) and I actually never thought about whether or not this is possible. I assumed a registration feature was meant more for Zoom webinars, but, as it turns out, if you (as the host) have an enterprise/education level Zoom subscription, you can ask that people register for a regular old Zoom meeting if you’d like. (Note that registrants do not need an enterprise / education Zoom subscription -- free level is fine!)
