If I was offered the opportunity to revisit any U.S. cities, these are the top 8 I would select:
Honolulu, Hawaii
Going once to Honolulu was the trip of a lifetime. One that I initially declined, but was eventually talked into! My only hesitation was cost...but it's only money, right? It was the right call. Beaches, ocean, hiking...Being in Hawaii is a total mindset shift. I think about going back almost every day. The opportunity to "island hop" from Oahu to other Hawaiian islands make this an especially tempting spot to revisit.
Key West, Florida
It's as beautiful as it gets in Key West, Florida, where tropical and low key vibes perfectly combine for a totally wonderful beach town. Moreover, hopping on Route 1 North and exploring the many other Florida keys provides a great opportunity for additional exploration.
Savannah, Georgia
Despite not being a beach town which decreases the probability of this, Savannah is one of the most beautiful towns I've ever been to. Low key southern charm meets a small-feel town that packs in great restaurants, bars and overall experience into a small space. Every time I visit, I wonder what I ever did to deserve to be in such a beautiful place!
San Francisco, California
San Fran has long been considered possibly my favorite city overall, and, for certain, my favorite urban city. The character and history of the city, its location along the San Francisco Bay, and the variety of sights to experience make visiting a joy every time.
Asheville, North Carolina
I discovered Asheville by complete accident while driving home from Atlanta, Georgia. This small town packs a funky vibe with countless breweries, restaurants and watering holes, all situated near the Smoky Mountains and Blue Ridge Parkway, making Asheville an amazing opportunity for outdoor exploration by day and enjoying the town by night.
Nashville, Tennessee
If you love music and barbecue, the music capital of the world is a good time waiting to happen. The strip of Broadway live music spots is completely out of this world. Music emanates from every direction and some spots even have multiple floors with music on each floor. Best of all, these spots have an agreement to never charge cover charges -- the bands work on tips. Even so, I never find musicians overly aggressive in forcing tips on patrons. While country music is in Nashville's roots, you can hear all kinds of music in Nashville. It's a live music lovers dream come true. In addition to Nashville, I have also gained an appreciation for the nature found throughout Tennessee -- 50+ state parks, tons of waterfalls and interesting nature to explore!
Sedona, Arizona
It's all about the outdoors in Sedona. Countless hiking options await you each and every day amid amazing rock formations and landscapes that give perspective you rarely experience anywhere else. Sedona's couple-hour proximity to other Arizona towns, such as Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe and Glendale provide for a plethora of additional options including a vast offering of MLB Cactus League Spring Training games and exploratory opportunities in-between.
Las Vegas, Nevada
I've now been to Vegas on two occasions and there is just so much to see and experience in and around the town. In addition to the overwhelming amount of activity within town, there is "Old Las Vegas", which is where the Vegas party originally got started, as well as several national parks including Death Valley, Zion, Bryson Canyon and the Grand Canyon just a few hours away. Vegas is one of the closest, if not the closest, major city to these parks and an ideal spot to visit from.
